"Diamonds are forever, 2008", a piece recently exhibited at Sheffield Hallam University and Wimbledon College of Arts will be returning to London. It will be shown as part of a digital slideshow at the TINAG festival in, London. It will run from Thursday 23rd October to Sunday 26th October at Cafe OTO on Ashwin Street in Dalston, East London.

Realise, the exhibition with the Arthouse in Wakefield is running for another month, The original closing date was the 31st August, it is now the 30th September.

I have recently been thinking about where my work will go next. Still wanting to keep the sugar theme running, i was sent a link about the slave trade in England and how this was a valuable substance transported from America via the trade of slaves in Africa. This industry was the rise of major cities like Liverpool and Bristol. On a recent visit to Bristol i visited an exhibition which covered in great depth the triangular trade of good between England, Africa and America. I am currently exploring the process of colouring sugar and making possible casts of sugar cones - the form in which sugar was transported from America.

I was recently asked to be involved in an exhibition in Wimbledon titled 'One night stand'. An article chosen by the curator Diana Ali caled Atoms and Nuclei by H.A. Bethe was sent to me. My task was to reinterpret this article and form a representation or characteristic of the city or country i am in. I am currently in Barnsley, South Yorkshire which has a rich coal mining history. Using a found piece of coal on site at the old coliery i scrawled Diamonds are forever into the brickwork and this was the result!

The exhibition will be returning to Sheffield in the near future, i will keep you informed. This exhibition is provided by the Sheffield Hallam Curators Forum.

I have just been selected to exhibit at the Arthouse's new studio space in Wakefield. The arthouse are a unique national membership organisation for visual artists. They do a lot of network providing, professional training and development and opportunities for artists to make quality work through residencies, exhibitions and projects. The exhibition will run from May to July, dates to be confirmed. My initial proposal is to show a documentary piece showing the degredation of the giant sugar cube. http://www.the-arthouse.org.uk

I have two of my photographs published in this months (january) Barnsley Eye magazine. This is a free local magazine focussing on what happens in and around barnsley. They do have a website which is currently under conmstruction. Here's the link anyway: http://barnsleyeye.co.uk/

There is still work going on! Even though i have been tied up with other things recently, it's still bubbling away in the background. The photo's of the dissolving sugar cubes are to be printed in photo quality onto sugar sachets which will contain fair trade sugar. These will befor use within possible cafe's and restaurants and for exhibition also. Here's a taster image, it is only a sample and still has work to be done.

The sugar cube has gradually been dissolving away, and it has now almost gone, just a few patches in the ground now. Here are a couple of pictures.

Welcome to yet another new look to the site. I really didn't like the previous design and as there has been some background admin changes to the site i thought it would be nice to start a fresh again.

Having just finished my BA in Fine Art i am now going on to study a PGCE at Huddersfield University whilst still continuing to create artworks for a couple of exhibitions lined up for this year.

I am currently thinking about my next exhibition, its in very early talks at the minute, i have no idea what i will produce or where it will be yet, but i will continue to work.

Sweet Harmony No.2 has almost evolved into another piece, the huge sugar cube is currently sat at the end of my garden slowly dissolving away with each rain shower, and being gently worn away by the hundreds of wasps and flies feeding from it. It currently looks like this:

Some of my older work is being sold off cheap in The Cooper Gallery, Barnsley's summer sale. The sale is to allow artists to clear out some of their old work to make way for new. None of the works cost more than £100, many are unframed and umounted. The sale opens on Monday 9th July and is on until late August.
